ABOUT US

NGO, CEDEUM - Center for Drama in Education and Art was founded on October 29th 1999, but its founders have been continually working in this field for last twenty years, as promoters of new methodologies, process approach and using creative drama/interactive theatre in work with children, young people and adults (teachers, artists…).

CEDEUM is an association which gathers experts in the filed of performing and visual arts as well as social workers, pedagogues, teachers, professors, medical workers, psychologists, sociologists, experts on new media, lawyers and others with an interest in promoting drama in education and arts.
CEDEUM gathers many experts from this field in Belgrade and has a widespread network of associates, both from Belgrade and the whole country.

The goal of CEDEUM is further promotion of drama and theatre in all aspects of educative, artistic and social work through projects, workshops, seminars, expert meetings and work presentations. CEDEUM is particularly engaged in education of educators and training of the artists.

CEDEUM is member of the World association for drama and education IDEA, and with the support of National association for teaching drama NATD from Great Britain, is involved in founding the Balkan association for drama and theatre in education. Youth Program is involved in Y-PEER International Youth Network.

CEDEUM has intensive collaboration and exchange on international level through common projects with organizations in the field of artistic and creative education, especially drama/theater in education, culture and communication, education for peace and development, human and children's rights etc. The immediate implementation of the projects and drama work is carried out with partnership organization and institutions, particularly Center for Culture Stari Grad, Association of independent Theatres ANET (DAH Theatre, SVAN Theatre, ErgStatus Dance Theatre etc), Center for New Theatre and Dance CENPI, BITEF Theatre and Festival, etc.

Collaboration and exchange on the international level, especially with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands etc

The most recent CEDEUM action is the participation in the educational reform initiated by the Ministry of Education and sport (introduction of drama and creative movement in the field of arts).

This is CEDEUM's contribution to the accomplishment of children’s rights to full participation in play and artistic activities.

CEDEUM's action will be focused on artists and teachers training and facultative work with young people - students - teachers-to-be. This action will enable greater mobility, engagement and employment of those working across the country.
